Come among us, Healing God; we wait for you.
   We come, hungry for your Word to bless us.
Come among us, Compassionate Christ; we hope in you.
    We come, hungry to be filled with your Bread of life.
Come among us, Restoring Spirit; we wait and hope in you.
      We come, eager to rest in your peace.
         (silence)
Breathe in: the peace of Christ
Breathe out: my unrest

Our Triune God is ready to nourish us!
   Let us worship together to be renewed and transformed!

*OPENING HYMN: #509 All Who Hunger, Gather Gladly

CALL TO CONFESSION:

Trusting God is love, we express our lament, our brokenness, and our failings to God. We confess in order to be reconciled into God’s accepting love and grace.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
Holy God, in the fears and wounds of our lives, we long to feel secure. And so we seek power, strength, and smarts. We seek security and you offer us blessing. We seek safety, and you offer us your presence. We seek control and you offer us yourself. Holy God, have mercy on us. We need you. Hold us close. O Lord hear our prayers.

             A time of silent confession and personal prayer follows.

Prayerful Response  #698  (twice)

Take, O take me as I am, summon out what I should be’
Set your seal upon my heart and live in me.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON:
God shows us mercy and grace, God accepts and forgives us. God shows us how to live in the gift of Jesus the Christ. This is Good News for us.

We will not boast, for it is not our doing. We will give thanks to God for such grace, hope, love and acceptance. Alleluia. Amen!

*GRATEFUL RESPONSE # #591  (twice)
             Halle, Halle, Halle-luja, Halle, Halle, Halle-luja!

HYMN #749 We Are Called

CALL FOR THE OFFERING
ANTHEM  “Celtic Communion”
(based on traditional Gaelic melody “Bunessan,” arr. Mark Hayes)

Bread of the World in mercy broken,

Wine of the Soul in mercy shed,
by Whom the words of life were spoken,
and in Whose death our sins are dead.

Look on the heart by sorrow broken;
Look on the tears, tears by sinners shed;
And be Your feast to us the token
that by your grace our souls are fed!

Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Chris beside me, One in Three;
Christ above me, Christ beneath me,
Christ within me, Three in One.

Amen, Amen, Amen.
