Returning Citizens Project

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”  Matthew 25:40

Thanks to the generosity of the congregation plus the work of many hands filling backpacks and obtaining supplies, 22 packs have been delivered to the Red Arrow Motel.  They have been met with surprise, gratitude, interest and deep thanks.

Lately there seems to be a lot of activity at the motel, so we are filling more so the folks at Red Arrow can be prepared for the late night arrivals.

We currently need the following supplies:  backpacks, silverware, plates, stamps, and coffee mugs.  We buy the backpacks at Goodwill or local thrift shops, so gently used items are appreciated.

Program to Help Ex-Offenders Get Started

The children know how Jesus washed his disciples’ feet to show that He was willing to be a servant Messiah.  They have heard that by doing for “the least of these,” we show our love for Jesus and God.

Family Fare Manager, Donovan Strock donates 45 jackets to Prisoner Re-Entry program

Members of the congregation are working on providing supplies to newly-released prisoners by filling backpacks with congregational notes of support and hope that are delivered to them in their transitional housing.

We are collecting – reusable water bottles, toilet paper, Bibles, stamps and envelopes, plus pens/pencils and paper.  If you are able to donate any of these items, please drop them off in the classroom upstairs across from the nursery.

Thank you - Paw Paw Family Fare manager, Donovan Strock,
for donating 45 puff jackets to this program. This act of kindness, and visible support means a lot!   If you see him in the store, please stop and thank him again for his generosity and support!

Also, our younger children are planting flower seeds that we can sell at the church plant sale on Saturday, May 21.   The money that they earn will buy socks for the backpacks.
